U.S. Notes Limited Progress in Afghan War

     A White House assessment of the war in Afghanistan has concluded that wide-ranging strategic goals that the Bush administration set for 2007 have not been met, even as U.S. and NATO forces have scored significant combat successes against resurgent Taliban fighters, according to U.S. officials.

     The evaluation this month by the National Security Council followed an in-depth review in late 2006 that laid out a series of projected improvements for this year, including progress in security, governance and the economy. But the latest assessment concluded that only “the kinetic piece” — individual battles against Taliban fighters — has shown substantial progress, while improvements in the other areas continue to lag, a senior administration official said.

Thompson Aims At Giuliani On Gun Control

     Holding an antique tommy gun and a Civil War pistol, Thompson took aim at Rudy Giuliani’s policies on gun control. “He simply supported just about every gun control legislation that came down the pike,” Thompson said. “I just disagree with him on that. I saw he was at bill signing ceremonies with Chuck Schumer and President Clinton for gun control legislation over the years and he was very outspoken about it. Of course, he’s not as outspoken about it anymore.”

     ”He relates everything to New York City. Well, New York City is not emblematic of the rest of the country. I think the sentiments of those people in the rest of the country are in strong support of the Second Amendment. Which is what I’ve always been, and I don’t think he’s ever been.”

     
U Gotta Read This!.

     Well, what can you say? Giuliani, like most city-oriented people, won’t understand what it’s like to be a tried and true, true blue, red-blooded country boy. How could he? So now we have another thing to fractionalize America with: geographical integrity.

     Most people from the city and even the suburbs probably won’t understand how country boys see life in general. For instance, in a good number of native country homes you’ll find a loaded 12-gauge shotgun ready to greet the first criminal who tries to force his way into the home.

     Some country boys also own hunting rifles and even some jungle guns and the like, simply because it’s their right to do so under the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution of the United States.

     I believe it’s important to understand the importance of the Constititon and the first ten amendments to it. I believe it’s important that you do so simply because you won’t know what you have until it’s all gone, and there are powerful people above Washington as well as in Washington who are working to make it all go away. In its place will be a tyrannical document that, like in other nations, will simply tell us what we’re expected to do instead of what the Federal Gov’t is allowed to do.

     In a word, the U.S. Constitition and the first ten Amendments define limitations on the Federal Gov’t so to prevent a situation similiar to that which Americans faced before it became a valid nation. Of course, to gain these freedoms and to make this Constitution and the first 10 Amendments possible many Americans died fighting in the Revolutionary War.

     The 2nd Amendment, in particular, has been a thorn in the side of those who wish to make it go away. After all, with more than 260 billion firearms in this nation, it’s understandable why other nations are reluctant to send troops into America to take her over. Even China, with a huge expendable population of millions upon millions, must be thoughtful in this regard, and don’t think they haven’t considered all of this before now.

     

2nd Amendment

     A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

     What does it mean?

     The 2nd Amendment contains two distinct parts. The first acts to allow the States to fund and contain it’s own regulated militia. The second part allows each citizen of every state in the union to “keep and bear arms,” which means they are allowed to own and carry firearms. This document says that this right cannot be infringed upon by the Federal Gov’t.

     If you recall, I told you that the Constitituion and the first 10 amendments act to limit the rights of the Federal Gov’t, not it’s people. The 2nd Amerndment is a good example of this. Here, the Federal Gov’t is forced to accept each State government’s right to have it’s own regulated military force, which is the State funded National Guard. In addition, the Federal Gov’t is forced to allow every “citizen” of these United States of America to own and bear, or keep and carry firearms.

     Ah, but listen to me well as this document does not define what individual states and cities can do in this regard. Thus you have cities like Washington D.C. and Toledo that can and have outlawed handguns. You must also register your rifles if you live in many local jurisdictions, and of course gun registration leads to confiscation in many cases.

     Just ask Germans who are old enough to recall what Hitler did in the 30s.

     In closing, please consider this: Any politician who is anti 2nd Amendment is a politician I would never vote for. Look at it this way, any politician who is anti-gun must be, by their very nature, anti-American. I suggest you keep your eyes and ears open and one ear to the ground as we approach the presidential election of 2008, and be sure to keep your powder dry.

Supreme Court To Hear 2nd Amendment Case

     The U.S. Supreme Court said on Tuesday it would decide whether handguns can be banned in the nation’s capital, a case that could produce its first ruling in nearly 70 years on the right of Americans to bear arms.

     The nation’s highest court agreed to hear an appeal by officials from the District of Columbia government arguing that the city’s 31-year-old law banning private possession of handguns should be upheld as constitutional.

     OK, let me make sure I have this right. The High Court will decide on what the 2^nd Amendment meant when our Founding Fathers wrote it.

     Now, don’t get me wrong here, but for more than 250 years Americans really thought they knew what it meant. I mean, if they did not have the right to own and bear arms, they would have been killed in the wilds of the wilderness.

     For all these years we’ve owned, carried, and sold guns back and forth, person to person, and it was always understood. And now, 250 years later, wouldn’t it be laughable if the High Court ruled that the 2^nd Amendment did not mean that at all.

     The sad fact is, guns in the home and on the street in the hands of honest, law abiding citizens reduces the likelihood of crime. The mere fact that citizens can own and bear arms in a local community automatically puts criminals on notice that they could get injured or even killed if they broke into a home and the homeowner just happen to be there.

     Here’s a good example of what training children in the proper use of firearms can do when such a child is faced with criminal action on the part of others:

Don’t Mess With Montana

     Two illegal aliens, (AKA undocumented guest workers) Ralphel Resindez 23 and Enrico Garza 26, probably believed they would easily overpower a home alone 11 year old Patricia Harrington after her father had left their two story home.

     It seems the two crooks never learned two things; they were in Montana and Patricia had been a clay shooting champion since she was nine.

     Patricia was in her upstairs room when the two men broke through the front door of the house. She quickly ran to her father’s room and grabbed his 12 gauge Mossberg 500 shotgun.

     Resindez was the first to get up to the second floor only to be the first to catch a near point blank blast of buck shot from the 11 year old’s knee crouch aim. He suffered fatal wounds to his abdomen and genitals. When Garza ran to the foot of the stairs, he took a blast to the left shoulder and staggered out into the street where he bled to death before medical help could arrive.

     Those of you who are willing to say that the little girl was wrong or that the father was wrong for training her on how to defend herself, just think for a moment if that was your child and something like that happened to her. Would you rather see her raped and murdered, like the male victim before her?

     Honestly, if you can’t see the truth here then I doubt that there’s any hope for you as a human being. Being able to defend one’s self is critical for those who live in areas where crime flourishes. Even where there’s no history of crime, being able to defend yourself is imprtant. Anything less is… well, it’s down right criminal.

On this glorious Thanksgiving Day, let us remember all the things that the Lord has done for us. Foremost, let us thank Him this day and every day hereafter for the goodness that He has made to happen in our lives. Whether we’re great or small, powerful or weak, rich or poor, the Lord gives us what we have and in like manner He can take it away in a single heartbeat. Let us be ever mindful of His goodness and generosity. And when we’re ever tempted to be ungrateful, may we stop and think just how bad things could really be if the Lord were not here to guide, protect, and aid us in this great adventure not only on Earth, but in the physical realm.

     In the efforts of Nancy Pelosi and her fellow DemocRATS to gain votes from illegals and other anti-American Hispanics, she attacked one Salvation Army shelter because they asked that all employees speak English.

     My memory may be failing me, but didn’t Congress just recently pass a bill that established English as the official language of America? (Like it wasn’t all these 230+ years)?

     I guess that in her kind and benevolent way, Ms Pelosi wants to help us all ease into the transition of the North American Union, which both the DemocRATS and G.W. Bush are so enthused about.

OPEC interested in non-dollar currency

     RIYADH, Saudi Arabia - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Sunday that OPEC’s members have expressed interest in converting their cash reserves into a currency other than the depreciating U.S. dollar, which he called a “worthless piece of paper.”

     Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez echoed this sentiment Sunday on the sidelines of the summit, saying “the empire of the dollar has to end.”

     With Microsoft, China, OPEC, and others looking to throw the U.S. dollar overboard in a sea of greed, it’s pretty plain that people with interest abroad have forgotten who made their businesses in the first place. In the case of oil producers in the Middle Eastern area, it was U.S. dollars that built and made their industry what it is today.

     Ah, but that’s not of any concern to these boys. They use the waning value in the U.S. dollar as an excuse, but I’ll bet there’s more to this than that. There is so much anti-Americanism out there abroad among certain world leaders and their pawns that anything that remotely promises to bring this nation down to its knees they’re going to support.

     Personally, I think we should stop supporting ANY government abroad, that we need to mind our own P’s and Q’s by attending to our own woes domestically. We have enough hungry and hurting people–people who need insurance but don’t have it, and plenty more who don’t even have a place to live–that we have no business funneling money to any other gov’t.

     I’m reminded by all of this a very stern warning given to future generations of Americans by George Washington in his farewell address. I really suggest that everyone take the time to read this, especially our current politicians:

Medical Tyranny in Maryland: Parents Threatened With Jail Time for Not Vaccinating Children

     This is an action item alert for all those who believe in health freedom. State and County officials in Maryland have announced they will send parents to jail if they don’t submit their children to forced vaccinations. State Attorney General Glenn F. Ivey has announced he is willing to criminalize parents if they don’t bring them to the courthouse to have them injected, on the spot, with vaccines that contain methyl mercury — a highly toxic nerve chemical that causes brain damage and is linked to autism. The action is backed by Circuit Judge William D. Missouri, Circuit Judge C. Philip Nichols Jr., and the chairman of the Prince George school board, R. Owen Johnson Jr.

     Together, these judges and officials have conspired to turn Maryland into a medical police state, invoking the threat of imprisonment in order to achieve a vaccination goal that has more to do with politics than children’s actual health or safety. By threatening to imprison parents who object to the supposed health benefits of vaccinations, these state officials are effectively conspiring to cause thousands of children to be separated from their parents — a move that would create a humanitarian and public health disaster. This thought has not deterred Attorney General Glenn F. Ivey, who said, “We can do this the easy way or the hard way, but it’s got to get done.” That’s the kind of quote that might be uttered by a corrupt police officer pointing a gun in your face and demanding that you do something you don’t want to do. Actually, that’s not far off base from what the state of Maryland is now asking parents to do: Submit to the harming of their children through the injection of a toxic chemical, all enforced at gunpoint.

     Why do you suppose that the “system” is working so hard to commandeer control over your children? I mean, one or two vacinations were all most of us needed in the 1950s to last a life time. I mean, one or two vaccinations were enough to protect us from the scourge of Polio, for heaven sake.

     Well, you haven’t seen the tip of this iceberg. By the time the “system” rolls over us, you can wipe your rump with that birth certificate that says that you birthed little johnny or Wendy. You can kiss your children goodbye as the “system” trumps your parental rights.

     All of this is being done in the name of justice and protection for children. Never mind that innoculations are not safe, despite the fact that doctors can’t really tell you if your child will experience a reaction to one of them. (Autism and Vacinations)

     Do you know how many vaccinations a child will receive before he graduates from high school?

     I don’t know about you, but I think that is absolutely criminal. To put a child through 15 innoculations before the age of 18 is absolutely nuts.

     This reminds me of a girl I work with who once worked for the Dept. of Army. She was left go after 15 years for medical reasons. Her symptoms sound like Gulf War Illness, so I asked her if the deployed to the Gulf during that conflict and she said no, but she had all the innoculations.

     When she told me that I recall a Navy gal, a nurse, who had the same experience… I believe her name was Joyce Riley. She had all the innocs but she did not deploy to the Gulf, but she essentially came down with Gulf War Illness.

Bingo!

     To put parents behind bars for practicing good parenting is criminal. I pray that the Almighty, our most powerful Creator, will deal harshly with these bad people who propose to do just that.
