3/27/2008 — The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is once again
inflating its numbers of the amount of border fence that
has been built. They claim over 300 miles. Reality check:
less than 10 miles of double-layer fencing has been built
since the Secure Fence Act was passed 18 months ago.
white graphic
It’s basically another border fence hoax. See our full report
here of how DHS inflates its numbers to claim over 300 miles
of fencing:
white graphic
www.grassfire.net/r.asp?U=5641&RID=14553313
white graphic
And progress has slowed to a crawl. Since last September,
DHS has only built 6 miles of pedestrian fence and 35
miles of vehicle barriers. And their “virtual” fence test
was a total failure.
white graphic
So with the “sunset” clause set to go into effect in just
nine months, it is clear that DHS is doing nothing more
than playing games and juggling numbers. Even worse, DHS
is counting so-called “vehicle barriers” for half of its
claimed progress. Just one problem — illegal aliens can
walk right through the vehicle barriers!
white graphic
The clock is ticking and you and I must do all we can to
restore the Secure Fence Act.

me, albert         Seems that we heard a similar tale in the 90s when someone at the White House came up with 900+ personal files on Republican Congressmen…  In my mind this is the very issue that supports the premise of smaller gov’t that for all intents and purposes minds its own business instead of everyone elses, especially it’s citizenry.  You never know when someone in gov’t will be looking at a personal file they shouldn’t see, and be doing it for political reasons for “someone” in or outside of gov’t.  Big Brother needs to be trimmed so it does just what it’s suppose to do and not everything else it’s not suppose to–like holding Congressional hearings on baseball athletes who use muscle enhancing drugs.  That is outside of the Federal Government’s Congressional mandate.

P.S. I rarely edit my copy a day later, adding more information, but I think the following serves as a good example of what one of our readers said in a recent comment to this blog entry:

Introduction
white graphic
The committee’s investigation into the unauthorized possession of hundreds of FBI background files by the White House remains in progress. There are many questions that are unanswered; cooperation from the White House and other witnesses has not been full and complete; more witnesses must be interviewed; and, many more documents from earlier committee requests are outstanding. Accordingly, this is an interim report to inform the public as to the status of the investigation in the closing days of the 104th Congress.
white graphic
1. The conduct of White House officials
white graphic
The FBI files matter, or “Filegate,” is as serious an issue as the Clinton administration has encountered. The discovery of the unauthorized access to so many FBI background files on so many former White House employees is bad enough. These files contain the most private and personal information on an individual, his spouse and family. The fact that two individuals, Craig Livingstone and Anthony Marceca, with extensive political involvement and checkered pasts were in charge of handling the files is cause for alarm and investigation.
white graphic
That present and former White House officials have not been forthcoming in revealing who hired the two central characters in this matter is of great concern to the committee. The committee intends to aggressively pursue the answers. Whoever was responsible for bringing them into the White House is ultimately responsible for these actions. Placing the public trust of such sensitive, private files in the hands of two political operatives was a disaster waiting to happen. And, it did.
white graphic
In general, the FBI files issue shows a lack of respect by the Clinton administration for proper security procedures to protect both the President of the United States and the national security. This is all the more so since the White House ignored recommendations from a Democratic committee chairman of the U.S. Senate to take security precautions in response to reported security irregularities in the first years of the Clinton administration.
white graphic
The Clinton White House displayed a lack of respect for the privacy and confidentiality of private citizens. The mere fact that individuals lacking in professional skills and discretion were put in charge demonstrates the cavalier approach of the Clinton administration toward sensitive security matters.
white graphic
During the early revelations of the FBI files investigation, White House officials were quick to blame others rather than take responsibility. This happened even when all the facts were not known. First, it was touted as a routine mistake; then it was blamed on a low-level clerk; then the General Accounting Office; and then, the Secret Service. Each of these explanations was thoroughly discredited.
white graphic
Some White House officials, through surrogates and unattributed background quotes in the press, continue to blame the Secret Service, even after that theory was soundly debunked. The fact that the White House seeks to avoid responsibility for this matter, and instead passes the buck, ensures that White House accountability for its own actions will be elusive.
white graphic
Furthermore, the FBI files issue made it more difficult for the FBI and the Secret Service, the two agencies responsible for protecting the President and performing security for the White House, to trust actions of the White House. Prior to the files matter coming to light, these agencies cooperated with the White House under the presumption of a “good faith” relationship. Now, however, both have taken steps to implement more skeptical, arms-length processes for future interaction with White House officials. This unfortunate departure from tradition is yet another result of the growing mistrust of our political leaders in Washington. Undoubtedly, it is a black eye on this White House.

No true-blue, red-blooded American with U.S. interests foremost in mind would endorse the SPP (Prosperity Partnership of North America) movement.
As much as I dislike speaking out in opposition to any U.S. president, I must say that I’m both dismayed and shocked that President George Bush would have ANYTHING to do with this. And yet it appears from what I can see that he is at the forefront of the SPP effort.
Have we all as Americans forgotten our roots here? Have we all suddenly gotten anmesia? Are we under the influence of an unknown drug in our water supply? Is there something on the back of our postage stamps that has made us forget who, what, and where we are?
Perhaps this is but a dream — NO! — it’s a nightmare! Will we wake up before the American flag falls and a new one emerges from the rubble of a once-great nation? Are we going to sit here and let some unseen force destroy us from the inside out?
Be sure to read all the SPP pages on my website. Let me know what yout think by commenting to one of our many posts or by sending us an e-mail using our Contact Us page.

Do not consider painful what is good for you.

     Euripides

  •      Is there any doubt that the pain that comes from extracting a broken tooth is far better than the pain of a raging infection?
  •      Is there any question that the pain that comes from the removal of a bad gall bladder is far better than the pain that comes from one that becomes diseased?
  •      What about a broken arm? Is there any doubt in your mind that the pain that comes from setting the break is better in the long run than the pain that comes from a broken arm to which nothing is done to fix it?
  •      Perhaps another way to look at this is, nothing ventured nothing gained… or no pain, no gain!

Perhaps somehow this can be applied to the economy, specifically the banking system. For one thing, the present system is doomed to fail. Why? Because as we pay tribute to the money printed for us by virtue of the Federal Reserve (interest), our national debt continues to climb to unbelievable heights. And yet, because we pay interest–remember there are only so many dollars in print now–that means the Int’l banking community expects to receive more money than they print, which is one of the sources of inflation.

It’s like a pyramid scheme in a sense. At the end of the line someone’s going to be holding the bag… and now…

YOU’RE IT!!

Has the U.S. Military been spread too thin?

According to the following news item, our Navy believes this is so:

Private Contractor Provides In-Flight Refueling For U.S.

March 20, 2008: Now we have private contractors providing in-flight refueling services. Their biggest customer is the U.S. Navy. That’s because the navy has long depended on the U.S. Air Force for most of its aerial refueling needs. But the air force tankers are so heavily used with the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, that the navy often finds itself at the end of the line and out of luck. The navy has long improvised, using C-130s, S-3s and even F-18s to provide some in-flight refueling capability. But nothing beats the air force KC-135s. So the navy helped (with refueling contracts) establish a private aerial refueling outfit.

Read It Now!

A sad state of affairs when our govt. has to out-source the men and machines to complete the work for our military, and then award the contract for the new Air Force tankers to Airbus of Europe instead of Boeing. And, to pour more salt on the wound, even if Boeing had won the contract, most of the production would have been done in CHINA!

Is the projected lack of tankers really that critical to our air-refueling missions, or does the U.S. govt. want more tankers to employ in its spraying of harmful CHEMTRAILS into the atmosphere over its naive population?

     Who knows for sure?

In a recent e-mail a friend sent a link that leads to a story about foreign governments and foreign citizens buying up American assets. If you stand back and look at all of this happening, what do you see? You see a nation in trouble.

It’s not enough just to see that America’s in trouble, there has to be a cure. The question is, what is that cure and do we have the ability to make it happen?

When we look at the issue of a porous border very few of us can see a correlation between illegal criminals crossing the border and foreign governments and citizens buying up key realestate and other assets in the U.S. But the question is, “is there a connection?”

What about the war on terror abroad and at home? Is there any conection between this issue and our porous border or foreign governments and individuals buying up key realestate in America? Again, many would say no.

I believe it was Franklin D. Roosevelt (FDR) who once said that there’s nothing that happens by accident in the world of politics, and I have to agree. One thing is for sure, when our politicians jointly squaulk about this or that and they do it en masse, you need to look in the opposite direction to see what they’re trying to hide.

Take for example the Monica debacle in the White House during the 90s. What was happening at that very moment on cable was an investigation into the death of Secretary of Commerce, Ron Brown. There were allegations on the table that his death was no accident. There were rumblings that his death was related to a phone call to a powerful political figure of that time in which Brown threatened to expose this particular politician. This was in conjunction to a Congressional investgation that was just about to launch relate to $849,000 dollars from the Chinese to the DNC that was allegedly funneled through the Dept. of Commerce.

Well, once the Monica debacle started, the entire Brown issue was swept under the rug to never be heard about again. Just think of all the people who worked their fool heads off to expose this to have it all shot in the foot by an alleged affair in the White House….

Whether you see a connection between major events on opposite ends of the table or not, there often is. It’s up to you to figure it out. If you choose not to do so, that’s your business. But it serves no good not to make an effort. But then that might mean you would feel compelled to do something about it, and Lord forbid that you might have to stick your little neck out.

Take a look around you, open up your eyes and your mind and try to see the full breadth of reality. Although it can be refreshing, it can also be frightening.

VISIBLY SHAKEN HENRY PAULSON STUTTERED AND STAMMERED AFTER LEAVING MEETING AT WHITE HOUSE

white graphic
dead man walking
I just saw Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson give a live press conference after emerging from a meeting with the president and all top economic advisers, including Fed Chairman Bernanke and I honestly thought the man was going to have a heart attack right there on camera!
white graphic
Paulson was visibly shaken and could not control his speech. He stuttered and stammered repeatedly as he answered questions, and the veins in his neck were bulging. Then abruptly, Paulson left the microphone and departed amid press questions left hanging unanswered in the air.
white graphic
I’ve seen Henry Paulson appear and speak on numerous occasions, and the man is normally very controlled and self-confident. That’s not what I saw today on CNN! Paulson was stressed beyond his ability to control even his speech. He was literally crawling around inside himself.
white graphic
I don’t know what went on in that meeting, but I can tell you that the words of assurance Paulson uttered the short time he answered just those few questions, were not reflected in his demeanor.

There comes a point where basically good Congressmen can no longer lie to the public and keep a straight face, not even if it means causing a panic. Frankly, we’ve known this was coming for some time. We know that the intent is to bring this nation to its knees economically. Could the reason for this is to institute a new financial system, a new currency? Could it be to facilitate the institutionalization of the new North American Union that this president so quietly helped form during his term in office?

How To Find Peace and Tranquillity

Nowhere can a man find a quieter or more untroubled retreat than in his own soul.

     Marcus Aurelius

As my children were growing up, it wasn’t uncommon for one of them to tell me, “I’m bored!”. One of my favorite responses to this statement was, “Only boring people are bored”. Of course, they did not especially like that, but that’s okay because only through experience and aged contemplation can any of us come to this realization.

Several years ago one of the kindnesses that I bestowed on myself was that of turning my television off and cancelling the newspaper.

After years of being a news junky I, Albert, suddenly realized that it really doesn’t matter if I know every little thing as it happens on the entire planet. What would happen if you didn’t hear about a child that was eaten by a tiger in the Congo? What would happen if you did not know about a rebel attack on an embassy in some foreign land? What would happen if you didin’t hear about a bus load of people that died when it was covered by a mud slide in the mountains of Bosnia?

Let me answer that for you…. NOTHING!

I, Albert, suggest that you be very selective in what you watch and listen to. Remember the old addage: Garbage in = Garbage out! If you fill your head with bad news constantly, you will eventually lose your love for life, maybe you’re love for your fellow man.

I never want for something to do, and I can tell you that I spend no more than an hour or two watching television each week, and yet I can pretty much tell you where things are and I know where they’re going.

If you’re suffering from news burnout, I, Albert, challenge you to turn your favorite news channel off for at least 30 days. Just 30 Days! Let’s see if you feel any better for having done so. I can tell you that I feel much better now reading and hearing all that stuff. After all, whether I know about an event across the world or not will make absolutely no difference to the victim(s).

I’d like to hear from you after you give this a try. Contact me by using my Contact Albert link on the left.
