A Disarmed Public is one That Won’t Have the Means to Fight a Tyrannical Gov’t

29 January — Someone sent me an email about Hillary Clinton about to sign an agreement with the U.N. to remove or banish small arms in the United States in the name of the fight against terrorism.

I must say that after 59 years of watching our authorities fight one battle after the other (war on poverty, cold war against communism, war on drugs, and now the war against international terrorism) I see a pattern to the madness. I can sum it up in just a few words:

Get rid of the people’s guns and you remove any chance they’ll fight back when you do something they don’t agree with.

I ask you, why else would a government do that? To remove the millions of guns from the millions of hands in this country that own them would be to further the insecurity of this country, not to mention vulnerability to local criminals and thugs. I can’t think of another reason why a gov’t would do that, can you?

“I No Longer Recognize This Country”

Al Colombo's GKO Technology Blog

Editor’s Note: Not sure that this is Iacocca’s work, but it’s on the money. I received this in email and thought it might be an interesting read considering the state of the union address that we had to endure this evening.

–Al Colombo

Remember Lee Iacocca, the man who rescued Chrysler Corporation from its death throes? He’s now 82 years old and has a new book, ‘Where Have All The Leaders Gone?’.

Lee Iacocca Says:

‘Am I the only guy in this country who’s fed up with what’s happening? Where the hell is our outrage with this so called president? We should be screaming bloody murder! We’ve got a gang of tax cheating clueless leftists trying to steer our ship of state right over a cliff, we’ve got corporate gangsters stealing us blind, and we can’t even run a ridiculous cash-for-clunkers program without losing $26 billion of the taxpayers’ money, much less build a hybrid car. But instead of getting mad, everyone sits around and nods their heads when the politicians say, ‘trust me the economy is getting better..’

Better? You’ve got to be kidding. This is America , not the damned, ‘Titanic’. I’ll give you a sound bite: ‘Throw all the Democrats out along with Obama!’

You might think I’m getting senile, that I’ve gone off my rocker, and maybe I have. But someone has to speak up. I hardly recognize this country anymore..

The most famous business leaders are not the innovators but the guys in handcuffs.. While we’re fiddling in Afghanistan , Iran is completing their nuclear bombs and missiles and nobody seems to know what to do. And the liberal press is waving ‘pom-poms’ instead of asking hard questions. That’s not the promise of the ‘ America ‘ my parents and yours traveled across the ocean for. I’ve had enough. How about you?

I’ll go a step further. You can’t call yourself a patriot if you’re not outraged. This is a fight I’m ready and willing to have. The Biggest ‘C’ is Crisis! (Iacocca elaborates on nine C’s of leadership, with crisis being the first.)

Leaders are made, not born. Leadership is forged in times of crisis. It’s easy to sit there with thumb up your butt and talk theory. Or send someone else’s kids off to war when you’ve never seen a battlefield yourself. It’s another thing to lead when your world comes tumbling down.

On September 11, 2001, we needed a strong leader more than any other time in our history. We needed a steady hand to guide us out of the ashes. A hell of a mess, so here’s where we stand.

We’re immersed in a bloody war now with no plan for winning and no plan for leaving. But our soldiers are dying daily.

We’re running the biggest deficit in the history of the world, and it’s getting worse every day!

We’ve lost the manufacturing edge to Asia, while our once-great companies are getting slaughtered by health care costs.

Gas prices are going to skyrock again, and nobody in power has a lucid plan to open drilling to solve the problem. This country has the largest oil reserves in the WORLD, and we cannot drill for it because the politicians have been bought by the flea-hugging environmentalists.
Our schools are in a complete disaster because of the teachers union.

Our borders are like sieves and they want to give all illegals amnesty and free healthcare.

The middle class is being squeezed to death every day.

These are times that cry out for leadership.

But when you look around, you’ve got to ask: ‘Where have all the leaders gone?’ Where are the curious, creative communicators? Where are the people of character, courage, conviction, omnipotence, and common sense? I may be a sucker for alliteration, but I think you get the point.

Name me a leader who has a better idea for homeland security than making us take off our shoes in airports and throw away our shampoo?

We’ve spent billions of dollars building a huge new bureaucracy, and all we know how to do is react to things that have already happened.

Everyone’s hunkering down, fingers crossed, hoping the government will make it better for them. Now, that’s just crazy.. Deal with life.

Name me an industry leader who is thinking creatively about how we can restore our competitive edge in manufacturing. Who would have believed that there could ever be a time when ‘The Big Three’ referred to Japanese car companies? How did this happen, and more important, look what Obama did about it!
Name me a government leader who can articulate a plan for paying down the debit, or solving theenergy crisis, or managing the health care problem. The silence is deafening. But these are the crises that are eating away at our country and milking the middle class dry.

I have news for the Chicago gangsters in Congress We didn’t elect you to turn this country into a losing European Socialist state. What is everybody so afraid of? That some bonehead on NBC or CNN news will call them a name? Give me a break. Why don’t you guys show some spine for a change?

Had Enough? Hey, I’m not trying to be the voice of gloom and doom here. I’m trying to light a fire. I’m speaking out because I have hope - I believe in America . In my lifetime, I’ve had the privilege of living through some of America ’s greatest moments. I’ve also experienced some of our worst crises: The ‘Great Depression,’ ‘World War II,’ the ‘Korean War,’ the ‘Kennedy Assassination,’ the ‘Vietnam War,’ the 1970’s oil crisis, and the struggles of recent years since 9/11.

Make your own contribution by sending this to everyone you know and care about. It’s our country, folks, and it’s our future. Our future is at stake!!

Double Speak: ACORN Talks out Both Sides of Mouth

Anti-ACORN filmmaker arrested
Federal authorities have arrested four men on felony charges for attempting to infiltrate Sen. Mary Landrieu’s New Orleans office, including one filmmaker who targeted the community group ACORN last year in damaging undercover videos.

Among those arrested was 25-year-old James O’Keefe, the conservative filmmaker, along with Joseph Basel, Robert Flanagan and Stan Dai, all 24. They were charged with entering federal property under false pretenses and attempting to gain access to the Democrat’s office by posing as telephone repairmen, according to a copy of an FBI affidavit unsealed Tuesday.

Well, I cannot condone what these fellows did, although I have been known to work on the fringe. However, the statement that ACORN made concerning the arrest of O’Keefe was so funny and hypocritical that I just had to share it here:

“In a statement, ACORN said O’Keefe’s arrest is ‘further evidence of his disregard for the law in pursuit of his extremist agenda’,” says Manu Raju and Erika Lovley, authors of Anti-ACORN filmmaker arrested, published on POLITICO.

In light of what O’Keefe dug up on ACORN some time back, it’s hard for me to fathom that they would even open their mouths about this. If conservative citizens do not wake up and ignore such efforts to subdue open ridicule of near-criminal organizations like this one, they’ll never be able to stop the rot from filtering throughout society.

ACORN is clearly radical and extreme in it’s thinking. Even they know this and that is precisely why they seek to turn the tables on sensible people by claiming that people like O’Keefe are radical and extreme. We call that “double speak” and radical, extremist lefties typically talk like this, so ignore them if you will. Most of them are as little children who never quite grew up.

Frankly, O’Keefe must have had a powerful incentive to do what they did in that federal building, but we cannot side with him on this issue because he clearly broke the law. Just because he wants to expose the truth, he does not have the right to disobey law. We simply cannot have people walking around gov’t buildings posed as phone men when they are not.

Wonder Why “Dems Fret” Over the Coming Election in Nov

Al Colombo's GKO Technology Blog

Scott Brown ought to thank President Obama for his kind help in inciting the masses to anger, which led to his enormous win in the recent Massachusetts election. You have to admit that Obama’s comment about the pickup truck was ingenious to say the least! :)

The Dems appear to be their own worst enemy.

“Thank you Mr. President!”

There, I said it for Senator Brown!

Dems fret: ‘Every state is in play’
The Republican victory in Massachusetts has sent a wave of fear through the halls of the Senate, with moderate and liberal Democrats second-guessing their party’s agenda — and worrying that they’ll be the next victims of voters’ anger.

“If there’s anybody in this building that doesn’t tell you they’re more worried about elections today, you absolutely should slap them,” said Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.).

Republican Scott Brown rode a wave of voter discontent to defeat Democrat Martha Coakley in the race for Ted Kennedy’s old Senate seat. Republicans moved quickly to capitalize Wednesday, with National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman John Cornyn (R-Texas) telling POLITICO that he’s approaching possible candidates who passed up his initial entreaties to join the 2010 field.

What Makes the BSA so Special, Part 3

The BSA is a Rogue Organization
That’s Mostly About Big Business and Dollars

By Nick Markowitz, Jr.
Eagle Scout Class of 1976

24Jan — The BSA routinely pulls the wool over the public’s eyes I personally witnessed problems in 1978 when I was asked to be the lead Voyager for a Shoe and Canoe program when the now closed Camp Conequenessing in Butler County Pa. was short staffed to provide one. I had previously worked on its staff. Along with me were my younger brother and two young scouts from my troop, plus 20 boys and four leaders from other troops.

It’s a 7-mile hike out and 2 miles across Lake Arthur. You camp overnight where you make your lunch, dinner and breakfast; and then in morning you get back in the canoes, cross over the lake and hike back the 7 miles just in time for lunch.

Except that morning the other leaders got the bright idea to leave early and not eat breakfast and march the boys back in with out their breakfast. I objected and they still did it. My brother and one scout, Steve stayed at the camp to watch the tents and all until the ranger could pick them up in the truck as everything was soaked. They were to have left food for them to make breakfast, but they didn’t which I did not realize until the ranger got there.

I got everyone back across the lake and stayed with the canoes and my other scout I was watching, Keith was to stay with me as I’m checking in and tying up canoes. The other scout masters grabbed Keith to take him back without breakfast, like the other kids, without me knowing until it was too late to do anything about it. The kids got back to camp and didn’t eat until lunch time.

My dad was furious and was angry I let it happen but I was all of 20 years old and four older men where not going to listen to me. My dad demanded a sit-down with the camp director and the adults. They blew my dad off about the whole situation of allowing these 11-to-14-year-olds to hike back without breakfast in 90-degree temperatures.

Needless to say, if this were to happen today, a call to Butler County Youth Services would have resulted in arrests. But once again, the Boy Scouts, under the veil of “we can do no wrong,” got away with it.

Al’s Views: America to Amerika

Al Colombo's GKO Tech Blog

18 Jan — I grieve often for the demise of my wonderful country. Although it’s still a great place to be, it goes without saying that life here in the United States is not what it once was. When I was a child, life was good. My mom and dad worked hard to get ahead and things improved over the years.

Even during my own adult years, I worked hard and did well for myself. This nation was still a great place to live in, up until about 1991, then the New World Order came out of the closet by way of President Bush, Sr. Bill Clinton, then Bush Jr., then Obama have carried the torch, all the while moving this nation down a path from which it will unlikely ever emerge.

The video below shows a much younger Alex Jones as he sought to purchase a duplicate drivers license from the state of Texas. His refusal to provide a biometric thumb print and his grandstanding caused him to be arrested. In Ohio, we’ve yet to do the finger print thing, but it’s only a matter of time. Contrary to what they’ll tell you, an overwhelming number of citizens will not do it and that has been the crux that slowed this train wreck more then anything else.

This country was founded on a general freedom of choice. A one-size-fits-all treatment of anything within gov’t spells communism. Local policemen, federal agents, State police and others in positions of security know fool well that what they’re being told to do is wrong. Only animals should be cataloged and marked. One day soon they’ll ask you to take a biotransponder chip… will you do that, too? If you do, you’re no better than a horse or a cow, maybe even a pig.

Treasonous Activity: U.S. Astronauts to Use Russian Space Flight, not our own

IBEW Workers Face End of Shuttle Era
NASA is scheduled to retire the shuttle fleet by the end of this year. With just five missions left, human space flight—once one of America’s most prestigious home-grown industries—is about to move overseas. By late 2010, U.S. astronauts headed into orbit will have just one surefire way to get there—aboard Russian-made, Russian-launched and Russian-controlled rockets.

First of all, sending any job over to Russia is totally unAmerican! And when it’s NASA doing it, which is a quasi-public sector organization, I’d say it’s totally and shockingly unAmerican! I don’t even think the word unAmerican truly defines what this is. Okay, I’ve got it now… it’s TREASONOUS!

Secondly, if it’s not obvious to you now that “someone” is throwing America under the proverbial bus, it ought to be! In a word:

THE FOX IS IN THE HEN HOUSE!

How many more critical services of a national security nature must America give up in the name of globalism? If it’s not plain to you that someone is taking this country down one plank at a time, then you need to get your head out of your butt. A general lack of oxygen has left you unable to think for yourself.

This places Russia at the forefront of space defense and future exploration. It also gives them the ability to do as they will right over our heads without any way to stop them. Where in Heaven is our military establishment in the middle of this? I can’t believe that we, as Americans, have left the morons in Washington get away with this, this long. I understand the concept of “helpless,” but until I read this month’s issue of The Electrical Worker, a publication of IBEW, I had no idea that we’d come this far down the path to destruction as a nation.

Airport Scanners Alleged to Possibly Harm Human DNA

Friday, January 15th, 2010

| Blog Entry Archive |

Al Colombo's GKO Technology Blog

There have never been guarantees of safety or security in our lifetimes. We take a gamble just going to work, driving to the corner grocery store, stopping at a convenient store to buy milk after work, or going to the gym to work out. There are plenty of opportunities to meet an ill fate, we don’t need any help from big gov’t contractors looking to make billions of dollars at taxpayer expense. Please read on…

Full-body scanners used on air passengers may damage human DNA
(NaturalNews) In researching the biological effects of the millimeter wave scanners used for whole body imaging at airports, NaturalNews has learned that the energy emitted by the machines may damage human DNA.

Millimeter wave machines represent one of two primary technologies currently being used for the “digital strip searches” being conducted at airports around the world. “The Transportation Security Administration utilizes two technologies to capture naked images of air travelers - backscatter x-ray technology and millimeter wave technology,” reports the Electronic Privacy Information Center, a non-profit currently suing the U.S. government to stop these electronic strip searches. (http://epic.org/privacy/airtravel/b…)

So now we have a security technology that is not only bound to be used in every airport in the nation, but in special video surveillance applications, and it’s said to be potentially harmful to humans. What’s more it evidently has never been tested and approved by FDA for this application, which is very odd, indeed.

“..no such long-term safety testing has ever been conducted by a third party. There have been no clinical trials indicating that multiple exposures to such terahertz waves, accumulated over a long period of time, are safe for humans. The FDA, in particular, has never granted its approval for any such devices even though these devices clearly qualify as ‘medical devices.’,” says Mike Adams, editor of NaturalNews.com.

Mr. Adams provides a side note supporting my statement that FDA has not approved TeraHertz Photon technology for human exposure:

(If you try to sell an X-ray imaging device yourself, without FDA approval, you’ll be arrested. So why do these TSA suppliers get away with selling human body imaging equipment that has never been adequately safety tested or approved by the FDA?)

Perhaps a few thousand people ought to ask FDA if they tested this new technology before it’s release for public use… (click here). Further information will be posted in the comment section below. Those who have links and information on TeraHertz technology are encouraged to post it below as well. Thank you.

The Inherent Dangers of Mobile GPS Technology

Tuesday, January 12th, 2010

| home | welcome | recent work | navigation | mission | about |
| Blog Entry Archive |

Al Colombo's GKO Technology Blog

GPS is a great tool, as long as you don’t allow it to do your thinking for you.

By Nick Markowitz

A young family is on its way to visit relatives in another state for Christmas. They are thrilled when they’re given a new, fancy GPS unit as a gift to help them find their way there. Unfortunately for them, they don’t realize that they’re about to go on a trip which they may not return from.

Following the GPS units instructions, the family has driven down a road which has no winter maintenance and is normally closed during cold, wintery months. The family becomes trapped and is finally rescued eight days later. Unfortunately, the husband’s body is found two days later—he had left the car to find help.

It’s unfortunate, but this is a true story, one of many where individuals who follow GPS instructions have gotten themselves into life-threatening situations by steering them down a one-way road the wrong way, or a road which has been closed, or a road leading into a crime-ridden neighborhood where no one of good intent should trod.

GPS is also responsible for a number of truck drivers hitting low underpasses and bridges after seeking alternate routes when traffic is backed up on a main highway. Once again, people who allow technology to direct their every mile rather than using a trusty road map often put their lives in jeopardy. How hard is it to determine whether a road has two lanes or many using a common road map? It’s also possible to check with AAA or some other map service in order to assure a safe and successful road trip.

I own a GPS unit but it’s a traditional hand held unit used in the field to mark way points, elevations, etc. I use it along with a map when hiking or doing work as we need to identify the exact location of a sewer lid or building location for a report.

I have also installed tracking GPS units on vehicles to tell where they are and where they have gone. But I would never own or trust a vehicle mounted unit for directions because
I know just how inaccurate they can be in Western Pa. with all the hills, valleys, and fold backs. GPS here can be up to ¼ mile or more off because you can not get an accurate fix with three or more satellites, which is required by most GPS units.

Owners of XM Satellite radio are not aware that there are a number of ground repeaters here in Western Pa. to assist their service. The normal GPS pickup unit has many problems, as is the case with XM.

So knowing this, why would you or I want a GPS unit in our vehicles? To the unknowing, this is the greatest thing since sliced bread, but GPS also has many other issues. For example, a GPS unit does not know the best way to get somewhere as it will often send you many miles out of your way instead of straight in. Those who become solely dependent on their GPS unit will eventually end up in trouble.

Ok since I’m such a smart guy, how do I get around? Well, I use several sources, including Map Quest, regularly updated road maps, which will also enable me to verify road types and more. This includes checking state, county, and local government; newspaper websites, which often list road problems and conditions.

I have traveled all over seven states, including road trips to Portland, Maine; New Orleans, and Boca Rattan in Florida. All of them were conducted with up-to-date road maps, even before there was GPS or the Internet. Its called “common sense,” and many people appear to have lost it. We’re always in a hurry to get somewhere, or we’re too lazy to do research or make a simple phone call for directions and travel advice.

When I’m traveling, I often have a CB (Citizens Band) radio and a scanner to listen for possible problems ahead. I also listen to local AM/FM radio stations so I’m advised as to local problems. This has worked well for me, but even I get caught in a back-ups every once in a while. While studying maps I also look for alternate routes should a road be closed or impassible. Maps can tell you a lot with all those multi-colored lines.

A real map can also help orientate you as to where you are and where you’re going. Many people have a serious problem with the lay of the land around them. But again, it takes effort to use a print road map and many people are unwilling to do it so they rely on GPS to get them where they want to go, and hence they can easily end up in trouble.

So should you buy and use a GPS? The answer is yes, as they are a good tool to have, but you must know their limitations. They’re great for getting across town and such, but if you’re going on road trips, you should look the route over on a map. Look for potential problems and be careful in wintertime for signs when a road is closed and not maintained. If you don’t stay on your toes, you could end up nowhere fast.

It’s also advisable to carry a small survival kit as well as extra clothing, dry goods, water, and other essentials when you travel during winter. No one ever thinks it could happen to them, but it does. Have a safe and successful trip, use your GPS wisely, and don’t let something bad needlessly happen to you.
