Moving GKO Back to her Stated Mission

June 15, 2010 – GKO has recently taken a sudden turn back into the area of politics. Everyone that lives in the United States should be concerned about this country’s political direction, but it’s time to bring this project back in line with its stated mandate — the good, bad, and the technologically ugly.
There are many blogs and commentary websites out there on the Internet for you to read, and usually all we do on GKO is provide a link and a comment regarding someone else’s story. I might suggest that you take a look at the Albertaclipper Blog. There are also links to other resources on that blog, including some very interesting and informative pieces of information therein.
In the mean time, we’ve decided to bring GKO back to it’s stated mission:
The GKO mission is to provide insight into technologies that, on the surface may appear wonderful and convenient, but in reality may have a negative impact on the human condition, especially the psyche of man. (click here)

It is hard to talk about technology with out implicating politics some times as politics is what often drives technology. Like the smart chip ID etc.
The more think we are going forward the more I think we are going backwards much faster.

It’s especially difficult to discuss technology without considering the control that today’s politicians want to exert over their tax payers using the very technologies we use on a daily basis. A good example of this is computers. It’s been said by a variety of experts that today’s computer is merely an intelligence gathering tool. There are many, many examples where the technology we use can and is often used against us in some manner. –Al Colombo
